I decided using Wordpress is too confining. I set out to better understand how it works and to come up with a decent design for it. Feeling that I’ve accomplished that I’m going to move on to newer shinier things. Maybe I’ll still have this hidden somewhere on this site; maybe not.

CSS sprites: Why I use them
June 3rd, 2009In the before times, it was socially acceptable to use an image as a link. It was simple enough: stick an image tag inside of an anchor tag. Now that might be fine for people with a head full of eyeballs but bots and people using text-only browsers suffer.
By using a sprite, I’m making 1 http request instead of 9. Here’s what my sprite looks like:

May 30th, 2009I know it’s cliché, but it is what it is. This sure beats the “Hello World” starting post anyhow.
I’ll have the site back up and running in no time! Maybe I’ll even get around to doing my portfolio. We shall see.
Still left to do:
- Update font color and style in the CSS
- Make logo clickable
- Create content pages
- Get the footer looking right
- ???
- Profit!
